The royal portrait painters in France were often referred to as "Peintre du Roi" or “Painter of the King”. They were highly regarded in the court, but rarely ever had a birthright. What set them apart aside from formal training, to stand out amongst peers, was their ability not only to capture detail, but to convey the very essence of the person.
From humble beginnings, running the streets as a teen in Tokyo, to becoming a mother, to founding and running a 50 million dollar company, my life has been a tapestry, full of amazing experiences. But my tapestry is not yours, and neither is anything you see on HGTV, in luxury magazines, or on reality television shows. You are unique to yourself and your journey is yours alone. And now you have a story to tell.
My goal as your designer is to paint your story, not only for guests to admire, but for you to cherish every day as you arrive home. My final design may represent you to the fullest; other times, I may pull out someone that I see in you, but perhaps you are too shy to express. I will never design a home that is “less than” the wonderful people I work with. Like the royal portrait painters, my desire is to capture and express your extraordinary spirit.
Bold does not mean loud.
Comfort does not mean lazy.
Luxurious does not mean garish.
Affordable does not mean cheap.
True style and design are never trendy
…but are always timeless.
