Despite working with a multitude of talented, high-end interior designers over my career, I always knew I wanted to hire Mika Pope as my interior designer when it was time for me to build a custom home. Previously a client on multiple transactions, I have always been impressed with Mika's level of sophistication, impressive range of styles of interior design, knowledge of resale value and the real estate market- which is obviously as important to me as is the aesthetic and style of the home.
My goal was to have a timeless, classic home with clean lines and to be able to integrate my current art and decor that I have collected over the years into the overall design and Mika exceeded my expectations. She was able to reinvent some of my current decor, add additional pieces, and mix different styles together to show that it had been curated over the years, while pushing me outside of my comfort zone to be bolder and to use more color than I normally would (without being "trendy").
Mika was by my side from the very beginning stages of working with my architect, communicating with my builder, to being on the construction site over a two year span, working tirelessly on the final install day and still assists me with design projects in my home- no matter the scope or size. Her expertise ranges from construction to the smallest fine details like fabrics, trim and accessories. I also appreciated her financial transparency (I saw every invoice and cost) and her keen ability to reduce costs in certain areas, without sacrificing the high-end look.
Her expertise and talent are invaluable and I am certain the final product of my home would not be what it is today without her design savvy and professionalism. I had an amazing custom builder but she was also an ally and an advocate for me during a challenging, two-year project due to starting construction post-COVID, multiple supply chain/labor issues, etc. I would whole heartedly recommend Mika to any of my clients or friends who are in need of an excellent interior designer.
